Senior CAD/CAM/CAE Engineer – 6 Month Contract Lux Automotive Brand

Location: Warwickshire
Rate: Up to £30 per hour (umbrella)
Contract: 6 months (full-time, 40 hours per week)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior CAD Designer / Engineer to join a leading automotive organisation on a special project. This is a hands-on role focused on 3D design, digital simulation, and verification of engineering components. You’ll take ownership of complex design tasks, work closely with suppliers, and ensure all designs meet strict industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage CAD models, drawings, and simulations.

  • Apply and control engineering tolerances and critical characteristics.

  • Design for manufacturability including fixtures, jigs, and fastening methods.

  • Run digital prototypes, calculations, and reliability testing.

  • Lead design verification test plans and support suppliers in resolving issues.

  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong CAD expertise.

  • Knowledge of tolerances/part fit and FMEA (failure analysis).

  • Experience of design for manufacturability (DFM) and quality improvement (Six Sigma).

  • Background in diecasting, moulding, machining, stamping, painting.

  • Ability to carry out bolted joint and adhesive force calculations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication with stakeholders.
