Role Overview
We are seeking a Director of Social and Influencer to join a fast-growing health tech company. This remote role is US-based and will have full ownership of social channels, creator and talent relationships, and influencer programmes across both organic and paid media.
The Director of Social and Influencer will shape how the brand is perceived globally and drive its growth. You will lead a small, dynamic team responsible for social media, content, talent, and creator partnerships.
You have the ability to craft a single story into numerous compelling narratives. You interpret culture with strategic insight and execute with operational excellence. You know when to engage in cultural moments and when to create them. You build authentic, strategic, and efficient relationships with creators and talent, understanding the difference between genuine influence and mere noise.
If you have successfully scaled a social presence alongside a creator programme within the same role, this opportunity could be ideal for you.
Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy
- Take full ownership of multi-channel social growth and engagement.
- Develop and implement a continuous, performance-driven social strategy that honours the brand’s essence while encouraging innovation.
- Translate business priorities into platform-specific content and formats across Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, Threads, and Facebook.
Talent, Creator & Influencer Relationships
- Lead the end-to-end talent and creator strategy across organic and paid channels, from identification and vetting to ongoing management and performance evaluation.
- Curate and sustain a creator ecosystem that embodies the brand’s values and appeals to target audiences, including early adopters, mainstream health consumers, and cultural tastemakers.
- Collaborate with growth and performance teams to ensure influencer programmes deliver measurable acquisition outcomes beyond simple reach.
Cultural Intelligence & Trend Leadership
- Maintain a forward-looking focus on cultural trends over the next 12 to 24 months.
- Identify cultural moments worthy of brand ownership, define new moments to create, and establish success criteria for these initiatives.
- Navigate and map cultural tensions faced by the brand as it scales (e.g. access versus luxury, data empowerment versus health-tech scepticism), guiding the brand to respond with intention.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a team specialising in social, talent, and creator partnerships, including managing several direct reports.
- Set clear direction, operational frameworks, and performance standards for the team.
- Build a high-performing team capable of delivering quality results independently.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum five years’ experience owning social strategy, content, and creator or influencer programmes at scale, ideally encompassing both functions within a single role.
- Proven success in driving meaningful channel growth and creator programmes that generate tangible business outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
- Strong operational expertise in fast-paced environments involving cultural moments, news cycles, product launches, and live engagement.
- Deep cultural intelligence with the ability to analyse not only what performed well, but why, and what this indicates about future audience behaviour.
- Analytical acumen with fluency in linking social and creator performance to growth metrics.
- Experience managing creator and talent relationships effectively.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a unique opportunity to write the playbook rather than inherit one. You will have ownership over how a category-defining health brand engages with culture at every level - from what it shares with the world, to who amplifies the message, to how it builds community at scale.
If you are eager to shape culture proactively rather than simply respond to it, this role is for you.
